![]() You know corporations with their big plans as they interrogate the four survivors. ![]() Secrets are kept, shady dealings are instigated and true intentions are revealed. ![]() Earth has lost contact with the Ishimura ship and engineer Isaac Clarke, but now it's the responder ship the USG O'Bannon with only four crew members returning and we get the perspective views of these survivors of what just occurred on this mission in locating and securing an alien artefact. What are happening in "Aftermath" are the events that occur before the second game "Dead Space 2". Where this entry fits in would be a sequel to "Dead Space" the EA video game and its animated feature prequel "Dead Space: Downfall". The first feature "Downfall" was decent, but "Aftermath" would only be more of the same. Both Dong Woo Animation and JM Animation had worked with Film Roman on the earlier animated feature Dante's Inferno: An Animated Epic.I've played the games, but wasn't religiously hooked by them. The studios were Dong Woo Animation, Digiart Productions, FX Gear and JM Animation. The different flashback sections were handled by multiple South Korean studios, providing the desired variety. The film was co-produced by Starz Media's animation subsidiary Film Roman, who handled Dead Space: Downfall animation studio Pumpkin Studio and Electronic Arts, acting as supervisor. According to Papoutsis, the development team were "excited" to see the Dead Space series continue to feature in media expansions. Speaking about the contrasting merits of game and film narrative, the game's producer Steve Papoutsis stated that they were able to go in depth on elements that would otherwise be left unexplained. It also specifically formed part of the marketing push for Dead Space 2. ![]() The movie, together with the video game spin-off Dead Space Ignition and multiple pieces of print media, formed part of Electronic Arts's push to expand the narrative and reach of Dead Space. Dead Space: Aftermath forms part of the Dead Space series, described at the time by publisher Electronic Arts as a "trans-media franchise". ![]()
